SMP disguises more than just hair loss. Scalp scars are caused by injury or surgery, most commonly hair transplants. All scars look different as no two are the same. With hair transplant scars there are two different procedures that cause different scarring. First, there is FUT, Follicular Unit Transplantation; this is where the grafts are removed in strip form, once this heals the patient will have a strip scar. Then there is FUE, follicular unit extraction, this is where the grafts are removed individually. This procedure causes small individual circular scarring in the donor area.
By applying SMP in and around the scarred area, we can camouflage the scarring and make it blend with your existing natural follicles. This then reduces the contrast between the skin and hair. It is also an added bonus that the SMP procedure can help restore some health to the injured skin.
